Dogear was originally created as a friendly way to encourage AWP's members to vote on the governance reform. After his creation the necessary quarom was met just 6 months later. His illustrated presence made for a very successful voting campaign. He has since been used in multiple ways in our social media campaigns.

The original Dogear appeared on AWP's website and in a newsletter discussing the need for governance reform within the nonprofit. His shovel and hat go along with the concept of improving and restructuring AWP.
This infographic was created for a newsletter to our members to explain the need for voting. And as an extra incentive we had some prizes.
With the AWP Conference & Bookfair just around the corner, we continued to have Dogear be present in friendly send outs including this Season's Greetings eblast that went out to Bookfair exhibitors.
In early May 2014, our quorum was only 5% away from being reached. Once this occured we made a large push encouraging members to vote with this image though social media. We also called many members personally encouraging them to vote on the governance reform and explaining why it was important to the association.
Once quorum was reached and the governance reform of AWP was able to be implimented we celebrated with this image sharing with all our members that we had reached the goal after 2 years.
To congratulate our student members that recently graduated, AWP allowed the recent graduates to purchase a full membership at the student rate for their first year post-graduation.
