Encouraged by the complexity of adjustment, each place that I inhabit challenges me to adapt and evolve. These adjustments require a clear reading of the social structures established by each place. What interests me most are the social constructs which seem to dominate the daily experiences of each place. Such social constructs pervade virtually all aspects of the social and when taken together, they encompass a magnetic force generating specific social patterns of behavior and relation. I chose to analyze the particular social structures that directly or indirectly elicit my participation. They can be either near and material, or seemingly far and immaterial; such as the systems which are placed to direct pedestrians, or the socio-political agenda of European Union integration. Through research and writing, drawing and mapping, or digital manipulation of an existing symbol of social structures I aim to evaluate a specific place within the context of its social grid, hence my place within the structure.
