(2006) Top selling Halloween HD E-Card created for HD Greeting at the time. All projects were realized on very low budgets and real short time frames. This stopmotion was designed, sculpted, composted, filmed and edited in 3 days!!
Production still. This was actually filmed static. The camera move was created using After Effects. To keep the quality high I took Huge pictures. Well beyond HD. Stopmotion has to be carefully planned ahead so you can animate to elements that are not there. Its usually not in the budget to reshoot. A few seconds takes all week and even longer. I animate in 1's for the most part. Which means i take one photo per frame of film. So at 24 frames per second(fps) i take 24 individual HD pictures for one second of film. In that frame I have to move the character ever so little, and sometimes moves cameras for moving shots and rack focuses ect.. Very time consuming-But well worth it and very satisfying in the end.
