519 521 Facade Grant Renovation (plaNGk ltd.)

MSHDA Facade Grant.  519 and 521 W. Washington St., Marquette, Michigan.  $150,000 Facade Renovation.  Responsibilities included financing, design, construction documentation, construction administration, project closeout, and interior finishes.  Design concept included extending the one-story storefronts upward, to match the surrounding downtown streetscape.
Exterior construction by Closner Construction of Marquette, Michigan.  Project funding coordination by the City of Marquette and the Downtown Development Authority.  Interior Design and Construction by Dax Richer, William Burrows, Greg Zyburt and Steve Iery.  Thanks to all for a successful project.
Floating lights, blue tint to contrast the orange wall.  30" HD Mac screens to match the feel of the space, along with MacPro computers.

Kitchenette.  Pushing the orange theme.  Orange Corian backsplash and countertop, and sink.  By Schwalbachs of Marquette, Michigan.  Extra Corian was made into an orange window sill.
First floor conference space.  Arke spiral staircase.  Total office space is under 800 square feet.  Second floor space is approximately 250 square feet, and complies in size with spiral stair code for a small office.  Staircase installed by William Burrows and Dax Richer.  Disassembled and reassembled by Dax Richer and Jason Gauthier becase the first tread was off an inch... and... well... compliance was required.  
Main office cubical has access to second floor balcony, which overlooks Washington Street.  It's nice for stepping out to chat on the phone, grabbing some fresh air, and adding "the human factor" to the facade.  Natural bamboo flooring.
Open office space with translucent privacy separation, used also for dry-erase sketching and notes.  Design by Dax Richer.  Interior construction by Dax Richer.

Dax Richer and William Burrows branded the plaNGk ltd corporation.  Pronounced 'plank,' the business name came from a desire to represent a finished product, versus simply promoting the individuals behind it.  plaNGk, meaning 'make + provide + cover'.  Dax's favorite color is orange.  The letters were mounted on 'planks.'  Signage design by Dax Richer and William Burrows.  Sign Construction by Cook Sign of Marquette.
