Reflection Answers-
The message I am trying to convey in my artwork would be how life is very judgmental, and in many situations you are either right or wrong. The black in the background of the picture is representing the wrong in life. No one wants to be wrong, or in the black, but it is human nature to mess up, even though we were penalized when we do so. The white in my artwork represents the good and the success, everyone wants to be here, and even though it is very hard to stay here we work very hard to work towards it. Then the yellow represents a true person, and even though we work hard to stay in the white and not go into the black, the yellow is where we should be. The yellow is where people are true to themselves and it was where the wrong is accepted as an opportunity to do better. In my artwork, I am mostly white, and made up of components of black. This shows how even though you try your best to become white, and be the greatest you can be, we all have flaws and no one can stop them. The black background shows how all we see is people’s mistakes and their black parts, we are blind to the white in people. Then the yellow behind me shows how we don’t even know, or think about the yellow part of our lives. We only think about the wrong the right, the black the white.
One famous artist I could compare my artwork to would be Leonardo da Vinci. This is because of his work on the Mona Lisa. This is very relatable because he was one of the first artists to do half of a portrait, and also to do a portrait at an angle. My artwork resembles this style of artwork also. One difference would be the messages of the piece. They also both have a very simplistic face with a simplistic background. Both of the pieces have a ton of visual similarities, and then some of the meanings of the artwork is the differences.
