The publishing universe, in its continuous transformation, is made by a multitude of facets. The subject of this publication is the analysis of the changes in act on this scenery, throughout the reconstruction of a theoretical and critical scene. Today we assist to a phenomenon that grows, the independent publishing, this frontier include.
Those independent and self produced projects of micropublishing (self publishing) that have economical intents, but show themselves as works of research demonstrating their physical value. A return to handmade projects, valorizing the matter and the unique that make the publishing product a work of art. The identity of “maker” spreads in this context (the maker, the creator, the facturer) and represents a contemporary cultural movement that extends its philosophical base of D.I.Y.(do it yourself). At the centre of the project, the recovering of manuality can’t represent an ostentation of the arts and crafts, an authorial self celebration, the technical choose must be functional and self conscious, a natural exigency to reach a formal result in particular, required by the publishing product’s structure. All of this has brought to the birth of a selfpublishing product, born from the sharing of experiences of the artistical collective.
