When the project started, the brief from the client was to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Panda 4x4. We decided to show “how far Panda 4x4 had gotten” bringing it to the furthest and most extreme place in the world: the South Pole, where penguins still keep on slipping and falling in very funny ways, despite thousands of years of evolution, while the Panda 4x4 perfectly drives on all terrains, ice included. This was the idea for the commercial… And the Client liked it to the point that they decided to build upon this idea a special Panda 4x4 edition: the Panda Antartica. The model, designed to recall a penguin’s “suit” (with black and white colors, and orange details), was presented at Frankfurt Motor Show and then released in October, together with the commercial and all the “anniversary” communication on tv, web, outdoor and print.
