I'm very happy for this new opportunity to work with DACS on continuing to raise awareness of child sex trafficking. This year's exhibition is titled Episodes. The theme is based around the story of Kai, a young girl who was tricked into prostitution and thrown amongst wolves. DACS chose three significant "episodes" of Kai's story for us artists to illustrate: Corrosion, Enslavement and Restoration. I wanted this illustration to reflect the time in which Kai was enslaved and being torn apart by those around her. I look at a thorn bush as a protector to it's rose. Much like an adult to a child, the thorns should keep any harm from befalling on it. But unfortunately for some roses this is not always the case, and the thorn bush they think will protect them ends up destroying them.
