The Life of the Party
In a sea of perpetual nothingness, she will always find what it takes to be noticed.
You see, social commentary is too often time in reference to political issues, major events, maybe even a little gossip. Rarely does art in the realm of social commentary target the individual these days. Thats what this is, this piece depicts the struggle in the idea of always wanting attention. I want there to be more to this picture than just pretty colors. The fight and loneliness that exacts itself on those of us that know nothing other than being the center of attention is so transparent that it can only be referred to as a sea. Not so much a sea of loneliness, but more a sea of nothingness, without that attention, there is nothing.
