Orpheus - Graphic Project

For our Master's degree we developed the video project Orpheus, not only for what concerns the film part but also the editorial and graphic one.
After a huge conceptual and graphical research and brainstorming we could create a visual identity, in line with the ideas we wanted to express.

Orpheus  - a more free layout and different illustrations because it concerns the research part of our project.
Orpheus: from Ordinary to Extraordinary - pre production
Orpheus: from Estraordinary to Ordinary - post production

These last two are linked by the same layout, graphic organization and symmetrical arguments.
Orpheus

It is about our philosophical, mythologic, artistic and literary researches, explaining our visual choices due to express those ideas.
We also show the projectual part of storyboarding and screenplay.
For this essay we choosed to use a more "realistic" illustration following the concept of the scientific drawing for knowledge purpouse.
At least we explained our projectual choices for the logo and its features.
Orpheus: from the Ordinary to the Extraordinary

This essay is about the post production part of our projec, our inspiration and choices for what concerns light, screening, and all the Special Effects.
The whole editorial part is based on the idea of sections, full and empty.
For this reason we decided to cut off some shapes from the paper to reveal the idden illustration beside it.
For each chapter we arranged the letters creating different constellation shapes, in relation to our video concept.
Orpheus: from the Extraordinary to the Ordinary

This essay is about the post-production part of our project, our references and how we approached to reach the effects we needed.

We also created a blog on Tumblr and a Facebook page with some work in progress and update
