Brief
Being a creative and a performance artist with a love for spoken word and hip-hop, it was only natural that I utilize these mediums in a method that not only showcased my art but also documented my creative process. This proved daunting at the start because my creative process mostly occurs in my mind and is intangible. But through utilizing an interview and narrative technique, I depicted the discourse of my creative process.
Positioning
To reposition Hip Hop and Rap within the art realm. To communicate that freestyle rap is one of the most ephemeral forms of visual and audible art as the artist takes raw inspiration and immediately creates an audio visual tapestry of blatant honesty, musical intent and stage bravado. The artwork experienced by the audience is a once of piece that will never be recreated duplicated or imitated. The artwork lives in the minds and ears of the audience.
