The Explorer - First 3D Game Project

The Explorer was my first 3D game project, created in 2013. Designed for one of my classes, the game took about 2 months to create using Unity and Autodesk 3DS Max. The premise of the game was that the player was searching for the wherabouts of a professor and explorer who had gone missing and who was believed to have been exploring this island. The player can explore the open world island at will, entering 3 dungeons and solving their puzzles along the way in any order. Several notes and objects can be found around the world that reveal the happenings of the lost explorer, and eventually the player can reach the summit and discover the ancient relic that eluded him. While simple, this project acted as a good intro for me into the world of 3D game design. All 3D models were created by me with the exception of trees, which were default Unity assets. Textures and music were taken from online free-to-use databases. Programming was primarily done by me as well, with a substantial amount of help from friends and mentors.
