Vauxhall asked us to re structure their mobile site.
However as their site is currently outdated, cluttered and hard to use… we took it as an opportunity, to give the site a make-over. So I was asked to take on this task while working at MRM-Meteorite, which is apart of the McCann worldgroup.
After years of using black backgrounds on all their digital content we decided to push for a brighter, friendlier look. This is cleaner, less masculine, and also allows the vehicles to feel much more grounded as their shadows are visible. We also changed all their fonts from their overly used, black typefaces to a lightweight alternative, and the use of all caps was significantly reduced.
As well as the above 2 main changes, I replaced all the elements with cleaner, flatter UI.
Unfortunately, the senior members of the board were not prepared to change to a white background. So although the main aspect of the design went ahead, a dark colour scheme was implemented.
