    A unique Strongback (mount) i designed and built for a totem pole. The artifact is held by private clients in Northern California. Usually mounts like these are sunk deep into the ground and are permanent installations, but the clients specified that this particular mount should be mobile. Read Less

Final installaton view of a totem pole I installed for a client. This rare example of a portable strongback (totem pole mount) was made to support the artifact without comprimising its structure. If the clients wish, the totem pole and strongback can both be moved. This was a great project to work on and the clients were truly lovely.
Often features like this hole in the forehead of one of the animals is used to anchor the pole to its strongback. I did not want to drill through my clients' beloved artifact, so opted for a large-scale version of a more archivally sound museum mounting technique.
