Illustrations and Lettering
At the beginning of the year, I quit my day job so I could focus more on illustration and lettering! It's been a big move for me and it's actually been quite smooth. But, I'm not doing illustration full time yet. I have been lucky enough to get a really good and steady web design gig—it's good work, pays the bills, and still gives me enough time to spend most of the week drawing!

Enough talk, here's some of the illustration and lettering work created the first 3 months of my new freelance life!
Is there anything better than riding bikes with your friends in the summer time? Probably, but this is just one poster, people!Exhibited in ARTCRANK: A poster party for bike people.
There’s been such a great upswell of support for the the people of Japan from the design/illustration community. I couldn’t very well sit around and not put my drawing skills to use!
My goal with the piece was to create a message that could live on even after Japan has recovered. As cheesy as it sounds, I kinda wanted to make a new "Hang In There Baby!" I don’t want to downplay the reason I created the piece in the first place—I just want to remind everyone that whether your troubles are big or small, you can make it through.

The secret to my drawing skillz
Give In/Give Over
Shed - A piece about starting over submitted to the book for OFFF Year Zero. You are a shadow of your future self.
Lost In The Cold - My contribution to Pictoplasma's The Missing Link Project
Sure, we all know our bodies are made up of various tissues, cells, veins, blah blah blah BORING. Isn't it more fun to think of your body as a factory with little monsters trying to keep everything running smoothly? Yes it is.
Blood Brothers - My contribution to Thicker Than Blood, Blood Dumpster's first zine.
My contribution to Beautiful/Decay Book 6: Future Perfect. The piece was born of my hope that there always have something to discover. If humans run out things to discover and questions to ask, I believe life will get real boring real fast.
