ART of CONSUELO

Title: If I breathe, I live? (Ita: " Se repiro, vivo?")
Technique: Watercolor and ink
Description:
The character of the Studio Ghibli that I decided to reinterpret is Fujimoto, the father of the protagonist of "Ponyo" (2008) by Hayao Miyazaki. Through the character of Fujimoto  is underscored one of the favorite themes of Miyazaki, that for the environmentalism. In the movie Ponyo's father shows contempt for humans and their pollution, so as to get him to move away from that world and live under the sea. In my work I wanted to emphasize this message: I drew Fujimoto with a gas mask and a suit anti-radiation clothing that people wear over the years in their demonstrations against pollution, and in the background  a smokestack releases a cloud pollutant which expands in the sky that can represent a radioactive cloud or  particulates.

Title: Arrietty - The Stealth (Ita: "Arrietty - La furtiva")
Technique used: Pencils and Watercolor
Description:
The character is chosen to represent Arrietty, the main characters of the movie "The Secret World of Arrietty" (2010), directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi. Arrietty is (with her family) a " Borrower girl", namely "borrow" the everyday objects left lying around or forgotten by man, for reuse. The take things without being so led to the choice of representing Arrietty in these guises. Inspired were also a part of the film, in which Homily, Arrietty's mother, he wanted to keep all items refined of the dolls house and the title of the book from which the story is, "The Borrowers " by Mary Norton.
