The FAO Hunger Map is the annual report which shows the progress towards the first Millennium Development Goal (MDG) of halving the proportion of hungry people by 2015. The map is the result of the effort by the whole statistics team in the FAO (ESS). It combines high quality maps produced with ArcGis, complex charts elaborated through the study of mathematical algorithms, graphic and typographic design.
I also produced the web version of the map, which is available for download at this link. It is hosted by the Hunger Portal, a landmark for the overview about the hunger situation in the world. This version has been tweeted by Bill Gates in his personal page.
