Asian Culture Party 2014

This year, I was invited to create the biggest freelancer project so far: re-design and create from scratch almost every graphic element of the portuguese event Asian Culture Party. As the name indicates, the event spotlights the asian culture, focusing on 3 countries: China, Korea (South) and Japan.

Overall, I was asked to:
• Re-design the Logo
• Create a new Graphic Identity
• Graphically feed the event's Facebook Page
• Create a A3 and A2 poster
• Create a A6 flyer
• Create the Event's Credential
• Create the Credential's Lanyard
• Create the Videogames and Trading Card Games' Program
• Design some allusive pins
• Design a Roll-Up for the Event
• Design the Official Ticket
• Create a Letterhead
• Write, design and put together a Press Release
• Create a foldable A6 Event Program with a Map
• Re-design the Website's colours
• Edit the Event's Official Promo-Video
• Edit the Event's Guest's Videos
• Create minor videos

The first challenge was to re-design the logo. The old logo was hard to read and gave the impression of being too "full", and also it had too much strokes, which was killing the logo's legibility. Being aware of these problems, I slimed the Enso in order to create a more clear background, erased some strokes and changed the secondary font to a similiar, but much more clean, one.
Then, I was asked to think about a new graphic identity. I really wanted to use different colours form the ones that were used last year's edition of the event. So, I decided to use the 3 countries' flag colours': blue, red and yellow. The client really wanted to keep the event's mascots and really wanted to flash them out, so I created a graphic virtual kind of spotlight for them: a blue circle with a yellow sunlight effect behind them and added a Sakura branch above them (Japan), 4 yellow stars on the right (China) and 3 black strokes on the left (Korea).
Also, there was the event's Facebook Page. Every announcement and every surprise needed an image as a representation. Thus, below every image, there was a small text describing the activity along with the event's re-designed logo.
The profile and the cover photos were also created from scratch.
Like every event, there is a natural and obvious need of posters, not only for public advertisement, but also to give away to interested ones. The A2 and A3 versions are exactly the same, only the dimensions are different.
The A6 flyer has some small differences from the A2 and A3 versions, due to its "pocket" version.
In order to identificate every people in the staff team, credentials and lanyards were also created.
Allusive pins.
There were 4 of these Roll-Ups all over the event. They were 150 x 55 mm.
The Official Tickets.
The Letterhead.
This one was used for a Recomendation Letter wrote for me from the event's organization. Thank you for the kind words!
The foldable A6 Program with the Map (inside and outside).
It was also asked to change the background and the logo of the website.

Here is the old version.
And here the new one.
There was also a need to create and edit some videos.

The Promo-Video.
The Mascots' Video.
