Stems + Florets Buildable Textiles
Stem and Florets are buildable units, consisting of felt florets and small wooden connectors, or “stems,” that seek to challenge the traditional decorative object. Together, they make building blocks for physical compositions. Though originally intended as jewelry, the modules’ simplicity affords a diversity of application, where the only limit is in the builder’s imaginative capacity. Thus, these modules can be built into everything from a necklace, to a blanket, to wall art, and so on. They are intended as frameworks for creative building, transcending the ornamental object by imbuing it with interactivity, variety, and infinite buildability.
