On November 28, 2008 the preliminary contract between the Jagiellonian University and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, starting formal procedures to construct the synchrotron light source in Poland, was signed.
Novel technical solutions will be used to construct the accelerator and the storage ring in such a way that they will make up a powerful instrument at very competitive price. It will be able to produce radiation from both the bending magnets and insertion devices at the wavelength from infrared (IR) to X-ray region (with critical energy of not less than 5 keV at SCW) and opening possibilities of research in a THz frequencies.

This project was made for logo contest and finally did't win. We like it anyway :)
