Air Comfort
Connected device that monitors temperature and humidity.

The compact design allows Air Comfort to blend into the surrounding, free-standing or suspended.

Project date: 2016
Client: iBeabot
Production: Tektos Limited
Material: PVC

Design Brief: To develop a connected device that measures temperature and humidity.
Preliminary explorations.
Design directions:

A familiar shape.
In 1884, Joseph Hicks was granted the patent for Clinical Thermometer using mercury to display the temperature level. The mercury reservoir and the vertical shape will become a global visual symbol.

A playful object.
A gömböc or gomboc is a convex three-dimensional homogeneous body which, when resting on a flat surface, has just one stable and one unstable point of equilibrium.

A versatile usage.
A hook lookalike system will allow the user to hang or suspend the sensor in the desired location.

Golden Ratio.
The design deliberately features no light, connectors or buttons.
Mechanical Structure. The sensors are placed at the heart of the product in order to benefit from a homogenous ventilation whether the product is laid flat or suspended.
The low power consumption sensors are powered by a flat battery accessible by twisting the bottom part.
Mass production.
