The Phoenix Brig, really has risen from the ashes many times over in it's long sea-faring lifetime.  It made an arresting sight at the Southampton Boat Show in the shadow of the Independence of The Seas, also docked at Southampton and currently the worlds largest ocean going cruise ship. Originally built in 1929 in Denmark by Hjorne and Jakobsen The Phoenix saw her latest incarnation in 1996 when the owners 'Square Sail"  began transforming her into a two masted brig circa 1790. Swamped as she may have been by fibre-hulled Sun Seekers she held her own, like a film star from the forties amongst all those Fame Academy wannabees.
