It may be unconventional, but Florence was my favorite city to explore in Italy. The experience of seeing in person the art that I had studied and come to love only in textbooks throughout my college education was unbelievable and, at times, very moving. Besides holding some of my favorite art and architecture, my travel companions and I ate the best meal of our lives here, stumbled upon the loveliest concert by the Florentine Orchestra, spent so much money on leather and practically walked the entire city (which is how we earned our daily gelato, of course!).
