MAGNETION
Magnetion is a set of blocks designed for children. This educational toy is created to improve their
brain skills. Despite the blocks being single modular there are endless combinations you can create.
Each piece is ergonomically shaped and nice to hold even in a small hand.
They are made of wood, so we can feel the natural material while playing.
There are 4 magnets on each end of the block, which allows the pieces to stick to each other.
The cons vertices are softly rounded, which makes them safe while playing.
I was inspired by the simplicity of natural cells. I wanted to create something really simple that can
grow into something big and new. Also, I was inspired by single bricks which are used to create houses.
This is an example of transforming really simple forms into something amazing.
This project was a Runner-Up in A’ Design Award & Competition.

PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY
The blocks are made of alder wood. They are carved of wooden boards.
First step is to cut boards into rectangles. Next step is to mark vertical line in the middle of the block, then cut the corners to obtain 2 equilateral trapezoids which are sticking to each other by bottom.
Then, we proceed shaping the block with making 2 indentations on both upper bases of trapezoids.Next step is to drill holes for the magnets.
Finally, fillet all the sharp edges and insert magnets into prepared holes.
