Set of Latin letters inspired by Hebrew alphabet
This project is an attempt to build a dialog between two alphabets: Latin and Hebrew. The idea derives from my three-month long stay in Israel, while studying at Tel Aviv University. Studies on the history, structure and modern issues of the Hebrew alphabet became an inspiration to challenge its letters' characteristics with those of Latin script. I tried to reunite their differences and contradictions (reading direction, weight of the letters, dynamics) into harmonious and compact solution - a set of letters that serve as a specific manifesto, a voice of seemingly impossible existence.
Sela (Hebrew: סֶלַע) means "rock".
