Building on a month-long research at field with phase that included secondary research, expert lectures, market visits, and fieldwork with artisans, this project aims to revitalize Aari embroidery in Mahabalipuram through design interventions. The focus will be on developing innovative patterns that blend traditional techniques with contemporary aesthetics, training artisans in modern design and digital tools, expanding market opportunities, and promoting sustainable practices. The goal is to preserve the cultural heritage of Aari craft while enhancing its appeal and economic viability.
