Identity of Edward Lai Photography
Edward Lai, a Taiwan photographer residing in Canada, has adopted his name as the brand name.  Playing with the typography, we have removed partial strokes of the letters whilst the symbols are still readable. The most interesting thing is that 'ED' is his nickname and looks like a smiley face when rotating 90° clockwise. From a different point of view, the audience will enjoy finding out the fun from it. As an expert of wedding photography, Edward would like to give all the best  blessing to newlyweds with his warmest smiles, and which also becomes a peculiar and intensive element of the brand.  

旅居加拿大的華裔攝影師EDWARD LAI,以其姓名作為品牌命名,在標誌字體設計上運用了筆畫共用及部分消失的手法,且仍然維持文字的辨識度而不失閱讀性,整體呈現簡約、洗鍊的風格。其中最令人玩味的是,攝影師的朋友們都暱稱他為”ED”,因此若將“ED”順時針旋轉90度,非常相似一個笑臉的表情,在不同視角觀看標誌時便會發現這番趣味,擅長婚禮攝影的EDWARD正希望用溫暖的笑臉帶給新人祝福,而在一些應用物的標語上也使用了“ED”作為字尾,如:“YOU ARE GIFTED”,並以字體粗細區隔來凸顯”ED”,使其成為貫串品牌強烈且獨特的符號印記。
