L'histoire des hémérocalles rouges et de ce projet

J’ai photographié ces belles hémérocalles rouges le 1er juillet 2020. Pendant la pandémie. Il était 7h20 du matin lorsque j’ai pris la première photo et 7h22, pour la dernière. Toutes les photos apparaissent dans l’ordre de prise de vue.

En 2021, lorsque Vanessa Wenwieser et Tatiana Moura m'ont invitée à participer à leur projet collectif: “Ne tournez pas le dos aux femmes d'Afghanistan,” j'ai tout de suite pensé à ces photos. J'avais choisi une des photos de l'hémérocalle rouge avec des gouttelettes d'eau sur ses pétales. J'avais intitulée ma photo "Tears from a Daylily for Afghan Women."

Des 24 photos que j'ai prises le 1er juillet 2020, j'en ai conservé 21. Je savais qu'un jour, je publierais les meilleures d'entre elles. Au mois de mars 2024, via la messagerie de Behance, j'ai montré 9 photos à mon amie Eser Dilmen. Quelques heures plus tard, j'ai eu la merveilleuse surprise de recevoir ce fantastique gif animé. J'ai su alors que le moment de publier mes photos était enfin arrivé.

Ne trouvant pas de poème sur les hémérocalles, Eser a utilisé l'IA pour la composition d'un poème. Elle a ensuite apporté quelques corrections.

Au mois de mai, lors de sa visite dans le parc Yildiz à Instanbul, Eser a photographié des hémérocalles rouges. Ses très belles photos complètent admirablement notre projet. Merci, Eser!

Pour ma part, j'ai ajouté un résumé de la vidéo “Cuisinez vos hémérocalles” de Nathalie Beaudoin, auteure du livre “Des fleurs dans votre assiette,”

publié aux Éditions MultiMonde.

Kırmızı zambakların ve bu projenin hikayesi

Bu güzel kırmızı gün zambaklarını 1 Temmuz 2020'de, pandemi sırasında fotoğraflamıştım. İlk fotoğrafı çektiğimde saat sabah 7.20, son fotoğrafı çektiğimde ise saat 7.22 idi. Tüm fotoğraflar çekilme sırasına göre görünür.

2021 yılında Vanessa Wenwieser ve Tatiana Moura beni gelecekteki projeleri olan “Afghanistan kadinlarina sirtinizi dönmeyin,” davet ettiklerinde aklıma hemen bu fotoğraflar geldi. Yapraklarında su damlacıkları olan kırmızı gündüz zambakının fotoğraflarından birini seçmiştim. Fotoğrafıma “Afgan Kadınları İçin Daylily'nin Gözyaşları” adını verdim.

1Temmuz 2020'de çektiğim 24 fotoğraftan 21'ini sakladım. Bir gün bunların en iyilerini yayınlayacağımı biliyordum. Mart 2024'te Behance mesajlaşma yoluyla arkadaşım Eser Dilmen'e 9 fotoğraf gönderdim. Birkaç saat sonra bu fantastik animasyonlu GIF'i almanın harika sürpriziyle karşılaştım. O zaman fotoğraflarımı yayınlama zamanının nihayet geldiğini biliyordum.

Gündüz zambaklarıyla ilgili bir şiir bulamayan Eser, şiir yazmak için yapay zekayı kullandı. Daha sonra bazı düzeltmeler yaptı.

Mayıs ayında Eser, Instanbul Yildiz Parki'nı ziyareti sırasında kırmızı gündüz zambaklarını fotoğrafladı. Çok güzel fotoğrafları projemizi takdire şayan bir şekilde tamamlıyor. Teşekkürler Eser!

The story of red daylilies and this project

I photographed these beautiful red daylilies on July 1, 2020. During the pandemic. It was 7:20 a.m. when I took the first photo and 7:22 a.m. for the last. All photos appear in the order they were taken.

In 2021, when Vanessa Wenwieser and Tatiana Moura invited me to their future project “Dont turn your back on the women of Afghanistan” I immediately thought of these photos.I had chosen one of the photos of the red daylily with water droplets on its petals. I titled my photo “Tears from a Daylily for Afghan Women.”

Of the 24 photos I took on July 1, 2020, I kept 21. I knew that one day I would publish the best of them. In March 2024, via Behance messaging, I sent 9 photos to my friend Eser Dilmen. A few hours later, I had the wonderful surprise of receiving this fantastic animated gif. I knew then that the time to publish my photos had finally arrived.

Not finding a poem about daylilies, Eser used AI to compose a poem. She then made some corrections.

In May, during his visit to Yildiz Park in Istanbul, Eser photographed red daylilies. Her very beautiful photos complement our project admirably.

Güneş ışınlarının oynadığı bahçenin kenarında,

güneşin öptüğü bir anı gibi...

Asil hanımların yanaklarını süsleyen allık kadar kırmızı,

kıpkırmızı sancağını cesur ve gösterişli bir şekilde açıyor...

Havadaki bir dansçı gibi ince formu,

A poem for the Red Hemerocallis

Upon the garden’s edge, where sunbeams play,

Like a sun-kissed memory...

Red as the blush that graces noble ladies cheek

Unfurls its crimson banner, bold and sleek...

Its slender form, like a dancer in the air,

Each petal whispers secrets to the breeze...

O fleeting bloom, thy life a fleeting fire,

Thy crimson hue a tale of passion’s art...

So let us raise our cups to Hemerocallis,
To a fleeting muse, immortal in our verses...

J'ai trouvé la vidéo “Cuisinez vos hémérocalles,” de Nathalie Beaudoin bien intéressante. Une des premières fleurs qu'elle suggère à cuisiner, c'est l'hémérocalle commune, à fleur simple. "C'est vraiment facile à cuisiner," dit-elle.

Enlevez les étamines et les pistils avec des ciseaux ou vos doigts en vous servant de vos ongles. Déposez ensuite dans la fleur une petite boule de crème glacée, de l'humus, du mascarpone ou des fruits. Elle utilise une petite tige de ciboulette pour ficeler les pétales ensemble, "pour en faire un petit baluchon," pour la manger avec vos doigts. Ou, déposez la fleur d'hémérocalle dans une coupe pour la farcir.

Nathalie garde toujours les étamines et les pistils et les fait ensuite sécher. "Vous pouvez les infuser dans vos sauces, cela va donner du goût. Et, même faire un vinaigre ou une huile de tournesol. Après cela, vous filtrez et vous pouvez vous en servir pour faire des mayonnaise maisons."

Appelées aussi belle d'un jour, les hémérocalles sont des fleurs décoratives et des excellents modèles à photographier qui ne durent chacune qu'un jour.

I found the video “Cuisinez vos hémérocalles,” (Cook your daylilies), by Nathalie Beaudoin very interesting. One of the first flowers she suggests cooking is the common daylily, with a single flower. “It’s really easy to cook,” she said.

Remove the stamens and pistils with scissors or your fingers using your nails. Then place a small scoop of ice cream, humus, mascarpone or fruit into the flower. She uses a small stem of chives to string the petals together, “to make a little bundle,” to eat with your fingers. Or, place the daylily flower in a cup to stuff it.

Nathalie always keeps the stamens and pistils and then dries them. “You can infuse them in your sauces, it will give flavor. And, even make a vinegar or sunflower oil. After that, you filter and you can use it to make homemade mayonnaise.”

Also called day-old, daylilies are decorative flowers and great photo shoots that each only last one day.

Par un bel après-midi de mai, j'ai croisé les sœurs des Hémérocalles rouges de Montréal dans le parc Yiddiz à Istanbul. C'était un moment tellement magique, car ma chère Sylvie s'apprêtait à publier notre projet ces jours-là... Si j'y allais le lendemain, je ne verrais pas les mêmes fleurs, car la fleur dure généralement 24 heures ; elle fleurit le matin et disparaît la nuit, apparaissant parfois le lendemain avec une fleur différente sur la même tige. Ces cycles me rappellent les athlètes qui courent une étape d'une course de relais et passent le drapeau au prochain membre de l'équipe lors de la partie de changement: Des athlètes rouges, brillants, flashy, jeunes et chauds..."
