Another self initiated project I worked on throughout my third year of university surrounded the idea of “systems and structures” within graphic design. As a response to this theme I developed a project based around the Japanese Metabolist architectural movement. 

The concept of implementing capsules and systems are underlying themes heavily present within Metabolism and as such it felt like an appropriate avenue from with to explore such themes.

The main outcome of this project was a publication surrounding the history and context of Metabolism. Within this I experimented with various media and printmaking techniques such as cyanotype and screen printing. The final version was a perfect bind with a mixture of different stocks throughout the book.
