Yi Fang's profile

Women in revolt

The exhibition Woman in revolt focuses on the UK women's movement, and the curators combine it with the social issues of the time in UK to see how the rise of female power used radical ideas and rebellious methods, as well as the impact of social, economic and political developments. The exhibition is arranged chronologically, starting with the 1970 UK Women's Liberation Conference, and includes art forms ranging from painting, photography and textiles to film and performance, addressing classic topics such as the fight for reproductive rights, equal pay and racial equality, including the opening of the first women's refuge and the formation of the black arts movement in Britain.
I found many references in this exhibition. Women's art needs to be seen, discussed, and valued.
