Hyundai Capital, the men's professional volleyball team, has inflated expectations by embracing Leo 34, Cuba, the best foreign player in the V-League.

Korean Air selected Leo as the second choice in the 2024 Men's Foreign Player Draft held at the Holiday Inn and Sweet Dubai Science Park in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates UAE on the 12th.

Leo, a 206cm-tall Apogit Spiker, first stepped into the V-League when he joined Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance in the 2012-2013 season. After leading Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance's offense for three seasons, he returned to the V-League by joining OK Financial Group in the 2021-2022 season after going through an overseas league.

During his six seasons in the V-League, Leo had a brilliant career, including two scoring awards, two offensive awards, four regular league MVP awards, nine round MVP awards, and four best seven awards. In particular, he was named the regular league MVP last season by ranking second in scoring 955 points and second in overall offense 54.54% and contributed to the runner-up of OK

 Financial Group by playing an active role in the postseason.

Leo, who participated in the tryout, did not renew his contract with OK Financial Group, and changed his uniform after being selected by Hyundai Capital in the draft.

The order of draft picks was determined through a probability lottery in the reverse order of the 2023-2024 season rankings. Despite being in fourth place, Hyundai Capital was lucky to receive the fastest turn as the second choice.

Coach Fabio Storty, who attended the draft instead of Hyundai Capital coach Philip Blanc, did not hesitate to call out Leo after the draft. "I am very satisfied. Leo was the first one," Storty said. "I was so shocked that the Korean Air marbles came out first. Still, I was relieved that our marbles came out second."

I thought a lot about whether I could pick a replacement for Ahmed because he showed a good performance."
