Poster with an Augmented Reality (2013-2014)

The Augmented Reality (AR) technology provides the ability of connecting the real and the virtual space. In this case, the printed image serves as a bridge to both realities. It acts both as a conventional poster, which serves the beholder with information, but also it is a trigger for a 3D animation that can be watched with use of iPhone  or iPad.

Construction works on the new building of the Kunstmuseum Basel and planned relocation of art collection are the reason for temporary closure of the museum in 2015. The project includes an AR poster campaign "Sorry, we're closed!" dedicated to the urban space of Basel, promoting Kunstmuseum collection during Art Basel 2015.

The face on the poster is animated by the Augmented Reality technology. The band is cast down and the eyes extracted from the collection artworks follow the beholder. Tapping the picture activates the layer with information.

The work was created in collaboration with Sonja Berger and Elena Stelle.
