Don't Blink, Robert Frank

Robert Frank is what I think of when I think of snapshot documentary photography, his work reminds me of times I have been walking around a city and take a mental snapshot of what I had just seen. His photos show the harsh side of life while also showing the beauty between the lines, his work is unposed and truly just a snapshot of what he is seeing as he goes about life. When I think of the title don't blink I think of the idea of when you blink you may be missing a moment that could never be recreated, Franks work captures those moments that a normal person might just overlook. His work was used to influence modern day photography practices and expose racial problems within his very candid works. Overall, Robert Franks photography shows that all around us every second of the day is the opportunity for a photo to be taken and for that photo to have a story.
