Character Designs - The Infernal Devices Series

TID:Character Designs
commissioned by Cassandra Clare (for www.theinfernaldevices.com)

Once upon a time, Cassie was banging on about a new Shadowhunter Series. Conveniently I was in London a lot of that time, ...well so was she, oddly never at the same time. Through an array of practiced prodding plus the procurings of absinthe these new peoples were put to page.

(Mmm, lots of "P's" there, weird.)

As a matter of point; this series of character designs, as well as The Mortal Instruments preceding, were drawn up BEFORE the books were published. Inconsistencies with the text, while unfortunate, are 1) Not Going To Be Changed, & 2) Not My Problem.

That being said, Enjoy!

Victorian Shadowhunter Gear
(Costume Design)
Theresa "Tessa" Gray is a sixteen-year-old American warlock in Victorian-Era England,
Will Herondale is a Welsh Shadowhunter in nineteenth-century London. His parabatai and best friend is Jem Carstairs.
Jem Carstairs seems to be an unlikely Shadowhunter in Nineteenth-Century England. Described as being quite pale & having odd bright silver coloured hair, like an untarnished shilling.
Jessamine Lovelace is portrayed as being quite full of herself, she doesn't appear to like anyone and she hates the fact that she is Nephilim, although she doesn't consider herself a Shadowhunter.
Charlotte Branwell Twenty-two year-old Charlotte runs the entire Institute with a capable hand.
Henry Branwell
is the husband of Charlotte Branwell and a scientist of sorts. He has a laboratory in the crypt below the London Institute.
