Branding System For A Liquor:
Bloom and Bubbly

Project Brief:
Description:
In a very creative and ground breaking approach, students must produce a branding visual system for a selected or fictitious liquor.

Objectives:
Students reinforce the acquired knowledge on:
• Graphic design and visual branding systems
• Package design and production techniques
• Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Typography

Phase 1: The Plan

Select The Topic And Plan The Outcome:
This phase consists of the beginning of the process book.
Go to a liquor store and find the most boring and dull existing brand. Or make up your own. Then design a powerful and functional brand for it. Develop a process that must include (at least) the following phases:
1) Defining the proposal and general objectives.
2) Research on the product’s history and its characteristics.
3) Research and analysis of the cases.
• Similar products and main competitors.
• Market analysis and target audience.
• General message to be communicate (What to say)
• Communication strategy (How to say it)
4) Visual language.
• What kind of images?
• What kind of shapes?
• What colors?
• What kind of type?
• Any other visual elements.

I decided to make up my own brand and call it Bloom and Bubbly. I was inspired by the Regency Era and Jane Austen film adaptations and retellings.
Phase 2: Handmade Sketches Of The Brandmark

At least 5 handmade sketches on gridded paper of the brandmark.

Phase 3: Computer Comps. Of The Brandmark

At least 5 computer comps. of the brandmark using Adobe Illustrator.

Phase 4: Final Computer Comps. Of The Brandmark & Computer Comps. Of The Packaging

• Brandmark or logotype for the brand.
• Illustration or any graphic motif.
• Visual system for the bottles and package design.

After receiving feedback, I made “And” a little thicker, thinned the flourish of the “u” in “Bubbly,” further curled the top flourish of the two “B”s, and adjusted some of the leaves on the ornamental frame.
