My Vision for GameStop

I enjoy playing videos, especially Call of Duty. Anyone, doesn't matter. One day I decided to check out GameStop's site, just browse at site designs, and I noticed a few things that were a little weird to me from a user-experience perspective. I quickly started to ask a few of my gamer friends about what they like and didn't like about their (gamestop) site.

I think got interested with GameStop's site and thought how it would look like if it was re-branded and with a new site design.

Navigation Approach
I was inspired by Amazon.com's approach. I look at GameStop as it's own Amazon, but for anything related to games. GameStop doesn't just have games, but consoles, action figures, gift certificates, etc. I also thought about how GameStop should introduce a popular game with this navigation design.

For the actual header, I made my own content assessment and was able to break their content into four categories:

     • Consoles
     • Offers
     • Electronics
     • Collectibles

What happened to games?
I'm glad you asked! I added a main search bar as part of the navigation. The way I was thinking, I believe there are three types of people:

  • The gamer
  • Parent of the gamer
  • First timer interested in in buying a game, console, etc.

The search bar also helps with people who know what they want and to just type it in without having to click into diferent sections of the site.

Hope you enjoyed it!
