FATBOY SLIM - POSTER PAIR
This project was inspired by my previous self-influenced magazine article, I've recently learned to love this world of electric dance music. Fatboy Slim is one of the Mothers of this family of music, even when this type of gathering was illegal, you'd find him in a run-down warehouse transforming the place. For this pairing I wanted to focus on the differences of the East and West Coasts, I also wanted to gather that unity feeling.
FINAL: The Design Process
Research
Currently, I am a Graphic Design 2 Student, Previously in the semester I created a magazine article with the same artist (Fatboy Slim) and had a great time designing it, I wanted to push my idea a bit further. So with that, I gathered a ton of research and videos on Fatboy Slim's past and where he is now, I found that he has a whole 2024 upcoming tour. Which sparked this chain reaction of Poster Pairs, when you'd have to travel from coast to coast to gather each.
After compiling my mood board and defining my vision, I developed four distinct concepts. I subsequently narrowed these down to two, which I then began to refine.

Seeing as the start and the end have a bit of a difference to them, I wanted to explain how I made the design decisions that I did. I started out having both concepts be very contrasting and then asked around my class to see which one people enjoyed looking at more and went with that. There is a big difference from when you tour on the West vs East Coast and I wanted to highlight that. For my font choice I had a hard time with hierarchy at first, but as soon as I asked my peers around me they were right there to help me decide.

I have learned a ton over the last semester and I do not want this year to end. Not only have I been able to see myself grow with using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign, I've also watched myself slowly growing into who I want to be. Deciding what you want to do is not anybody else's job. I never realized how much of a pivotal role graphic design has played in many different arrays of jobs, I am excited to evolve with this medium and see where it can take me in life.

Credits: Thank you to my entire Graphic Design 2 Class and Professor Pepper for letting me harass you for this long about one project and being so happy with the outcome I've created, I will never forget it. Thank you again.
