Rendering Workflow
1 - Original sketch of a sedan interior. I listed about a dozen embedded solutions having an impact over the architecture. Line weight in managed through a couple different layers for easy edits,
2 - Flat colors to define materials. Each color a layer with a mask shaped with hard brush (except for the area I wanted to feature material with a gradient). Top layers create outlines for bottom layers and colors can easily be modified,
3 - Shading and highlights from solid-colored layers respectively in multiply and screen blending modes. Here again, hard brush to sculpt a layer mask to define the shadow map and soft brush, smudge & blur tools to refine (always on the mask),
4 - Mid-gray textures in overlay or soft light blending mode, shaped with hard brush on layer mask,
5 - Final details, lighting and color adjustments. Done :)
