Prompt: The assignment was to select an admired photographer and bring their style to life in my own series of photographs. One of my favorite photographers is Platon Antoniou, because his portraits demonstrate such a thorough understanding of the importance of story. I longed to emulate his method of composition, lighting, and coloring with my models. I had each model take a seat on a floor cushion about two feet from me and start telling me stories from their life, while I snapped photos between sentences. This was the best way I knew to make them forget I was there and to thus achieve that signature candid, Platonic look.
