The Greek community in Tarpon Springs FL is near and dear to my heart. It is such a close community full of tradition and a long history. The families and church welcome you to join them in celebration, dance, and amazing food. Epiphany customs revolve around the Great Blessing of the Waters. During these ceremonies, which are held on beaches, lakes and rivers, a cross is thrown into the water by a Greek Orthodox priest, and then boys compete to retrieve it so that they may have good luck throughout the year.
