Collaborating work in Art and Design

Once we started talking about Belfast Industrial Past ideas, I came up with lots of different thoughts which made the Challenge easier.
I edited the RAW files in Lightroom and later in Photoshop so I could adjust the brightness and contrast to give the pictures more depth. I feel more comfortable now thinking on the spot what settings I need to change to achieve a sharp photograph with the right atmosphere. With experience and time to experiment, my skills will grow even further.
I present 3 final images related with reflection that I have created working in Harland & Wolff cranes located in Belfast.
26 of April our team booked tickets to ‘Titanic taster tour’. We took photographs around the Drawing Office (as at this time it is closed so we can’t get inside), then the Pump-house and Dry dock. As my intention was reflection a got a few really good results.
As it is a collaboration work we decided (discussion 5th week) to print JPA_5550-a.jpg image in a 12x16 size and I was quite surprised at how well it turned out. I like this photograph because it shows great details of Belfast Industrial Past in reflection as it was my intention. As well I love composition, contrast, colour, lines, texture, shape.
As collaboration work our intention is to mount the final image to 50x40 mount size for the presentation they would look better.
These photographs were powerful because of the light of the sky and the clouds, these changed constantly. I used UV and PL filters to achieve details in the sky.
I thought the good point of these images were:
Great clouds added great depth to the image.
The images showed up the scale of the moors.
The compositions I thought worked well and made the viewers look at the point of my intention.
If I was going to reshoot the photos again I would consider:
I would like to revisit at a different time of the day and capture a sunrise.
On the moors, I would like wait longer to see what the light was later in the day and to capture a sunset.
Going forwards I have really enjoyed this project on a number of levels and I feel free that I have achieved a lot of what I had originally set out to achieve.
