Pushing Boundaries: The Labor of Men and Carts
In this collection of photographs, I sought to capture the tenacity and physical strength of Lagos's cart-pushers. These men work tirelessly every day, pushing heavy carts loaded with goods and materials through the city's bustling streets and congested traffic, despite the tasks, these men are often overlooked and underappreciated, their efforts are unnoticed by most. Yet, their contributions are essential to the city's economy and daily life.
Through my phone lens, I aimed to bring attention to the resilience and determination of these men, who push themselves and their carts to the limits every day. I wanted to capture the grit and determination that define their existence, and the labor of love that fuels their daily toil. These photographs are a testament to the human spirit, and a celebration of the men who carry Lagos on their shoulders, one push at a time.
