This project is one that I am very proud of. Melanin Magic is a book that I wrote and self published. It is a book that takes a deep dive into black culture focusing on three areas: fashion, family, and food. I chose these topics based on my own personal connection to them and to learn more about what I am interested in. The book itself features a bold and rich color palette to emulate the richness of black culture. It also features illustrations that I created and can be found on my instagram @artxkelis.  I believe that black culture is the blueprint for many trends and aesthetics. This book tells of the eras in fashion that are now repeating and where our favorite foods come from. Melanin Magic is for anyone who wants to learn about black culture. Book size: 8.5 x 8.5”
