I was hired by Oracle Red Bull Racing to do a poster for the 2024 Japanese Grand Prix. They requested something inspired in anime, so here is some of the process behind it.

After doing some research about anime posters and manga layouts, I started exploring some compositions. The chosen thumbnail (the one in the pink frame) was the preferred option as it showcased both RB drivers: Max and Checo in friendly partnership while giving some easter eggs about the team like the drivers' numbers, the RB20 livery, etc.

We took the chosen composition and started working on a initial sketch and then a cleaned up version.

After sending the Beta version to the team, they sent some changes so it was fully approved by the Brand Team. The majority of changes involved logo usage and Max's hair. I want to mention how kind and precise was the team with their notes, it definitely made the process more efficient! Here is how it looked before animating it.

The poster was finally adapted so it can be posted as a reel on Instagram.

We added some light animations in almost all elements.

I started to draw Formula 1 art since September 2023, and I hoped to do something for any team one day. The fact I got to do it for Red Bull is something so incredible for me, as I'm both a big Max and Checo fan. Hopefully I get to work on more F1 official art again!
