I started studying matte painting techniques to create fantastic imagery without the need or use of 3D software.
I wanted to create a fantasy scene to put my studies into practice and this piece is the result.
The main goal of these studies is to create visual concepts at a fast pace. Many times we don't have proper time to model and render everything we would like. So image manipulation is a great tool to present ideas faster.
With the help of AI tools, it's possible to make fast retouches and asset creation. The portal for example is an AI-generated image.
