During our studies at Projector Online Institute, I was tasked with creating a logo and identity for the Rokytnivska territorial community.
The Rokytnivska community is located in the Sarny district of the Rivne region, with its administrative center in the town of Rokytniv. Established in 2020, the community brings together 25 settlements with diverse histories and characteristics. It is the largest rural community in Ukraine by population size.
After the briefing and careful analysis of the client's needs and preferences, I understood that Rokytniv region is renowned for its nature, forests, authenticity, and valuable resources. The client particularly emphasized that the people are the greatest asset in the community, as they create its foundation and identity.
These aspects became the main focus in developing the branding visual identity.
Colors and fonts were selected to maximize the expression of all unique features of the community.
The color palette symbolizes the nature of Ukraine and important values inherent to the client. As for the fonts, a bold grotesque typeface with wide proportions and friendly character was chosen for the logo and headlines. For the main text, a simpler grotesque font was selected, which is used by all government bodies of Ukraine and serves as the foundation of the state's visual style on the Internet.
It is important to note that both fonts were created by Ukrainian designers, as emphasized by the client.
The basis for creating the logo consisted of images of the sun, forests, and fields, as well as a stripe that connects them, reminding of the importance of communication and unity. The logo shape was inspired by the diamond-shaped structure of authentic embroidery from the Rivne region. Simplified silhouettes of natural elements are presented in the logo, symbolizing the uniqueness of Rokytniv region, reflecting its forests and fertile land.
The logo mark is inherently simple and concise.
I would like to note that an additional logo with a coat of arms was developed. The idea of the coat of arms arose from combining the new logo mark with the coat of arms of the town of Rokytno.
Additionally, the client requested the creation of a black and white version of the logo for quick printing on letterheads or other media.
The logo works effectively in both horizontal and vertical formats. The logo mark can be used independently of the text component. When scaled down or enlarged, the logo mark remains easily recognizable.
Summing up the work on this project, I can note:
Rokytniv region is a land where people and nature harmoniously complement each other. The authenticity and traditions of this region are important components that will contribute to creating a great future for the community.
