Childlike Artworks:
A Look at my Creative Process

˗ˏˋ ˎˊ˗
I have recently set out on a mission to regain my sense of childlike wonder!

I've been honing my craft of cute and cuddly drawing for quite some time and I've come to the realization that reconnecting with my inner child is essential in my quest to making the most adorable art possible!

Through vibrant oil pastel pieces, I aim to evoke the wonder, joy, and simplicity of youth. After all, oil pastels are the fine arts equivalent of crayons! There's something about holding a chubby oil pastel crayon that just makes me feel tiny again, too. In each artwork, I embrace a childlike perspective, where imagination knows no bounds and every possibility is open. Bold, bright colors dance across the paper, reflecting the pure, uninhibited creativity of a child at play. That being said, I can also feel my adult self very present in the work as there is a notable air of quiet solace shown through some of the characters' facial expressions and more adult themes like personal growth, exhibiting self awareness that may not have been as present in my youth.

I would highly recommend taking a childlike approach to any artist or person seeking a reflective and meaningful art practice. I am excited to continue exploring drawing like a kid, to discover new techniques and uncover what colors, mediums, and themes my inner child is drawn to!
