The expressive type project is an exploration of using animation in Adobe After Effects to make a lyric video that focuses on type instead of using shapes and imagery.

The most difficult aspect of animating the expressive type was learning how to do the more advanced features of Adobe After Effects, as this was my first time doing a major project in the program. One of the heavier effects learned was procedural fire without the use of plugins. Other challenges included timing the animations with the song and finding unique ways to transition between scenes without getting too repetitive.
