Code of Constitution
Research
For this project, we were taught how to conform formatted text (rich text) into plain text to use for coding HTML and CSS. We stripped the formatting of the Constitution and created our own Old Style version and New Style version using the coding techniques we learned.

Throughout working on this project I was able to gain a better understanding of how code is used when designing digital platforms. Once learning how code functions, you can take a lot of creative liberties when designing how a digital site looks based on your capabilities. Code also, in a way, humbles you once you've learned the tedious task of having to code every single aspect of a site. Designing is one thing but having to code everything so that the interactions work is a whole new world and it definitely takes a lot of patience to get through.

This was the first class I have taken that had a coding project so no other class I have taken previously had any influence when going into that aspect of the project. But when having to think about design, specifically for the New Style version of the Constitution, I looked back at what I've been taught throughout all my graphic design classes such as: Word and Image, Interface Design, Typographic Design, Port 1, etc. I thought about how to lay out the Constitution, what colors would work well together, what imagery would give the feeling of freedom and feel modern.
