"Home"

2024

After the full-scale invasion of russia into Ukraine, while staying in Berlin I often reflect in my art on the theme of finding my place, the meaning of home and the importance of relationships with loved ones.

I came up with the idea to use the nest as a symbol of home, and to depict it in three stages - the first image represents the peaceful and quiet time «before», the second - the turning point of invasion and forced relocation and the third object is the home in my current understanding. It is fragile and shaky, not bound to a particular plane and can be anywhere. Over time I realized that home is first of all the love of family and friends, which is always with you inside, no matter how far you are from your «physical» home. In this nest I wove phrases from letters in which my friends and relatives write me how much they love and support me, it makes me feel at home wherever I am.

This project was created during the Pop-Up Residency "Resettlement" and exhibited in the LiTE-HAUS Galerie + Projektraum, Berlin.
